Somewhere about 2000, painting became my fulltime occupation.
My experiments with paint (mostly acrylic) resemble the shapes, lines and textures that I feel attracted
to in daily life.
My eye catches matters concerning depth, repetition, fluidity, vegetation and ecstacy.
I work with the smallest brushes and with plaster brushes, with thin layers of acrylic paint and with
thick blobs of enamel.
Taking pictures from books, papers, films and magazines as starting-points, I impose my will on their
reality to show the irrational. With different painting technics I paint a dreamy world, a kind
of Slumberland.
My viewpoint moves from the delightful sweetness of flowers and the sensual, towards the uglier
things in life, and back.
Asian art runs through my work like a continuous thread. I love to travel to these countries I am an
admirer of the image construction and the refinement that -for instance- can be seen in Indian miniatures.
Painting is my personal adventure; it frames and fulfils my life, it is the domain where I do as I please.
